Why is it that I can get DSL service for 1/3 of the original price, and get my modem and shipping for free, all with one simple phone call, and Gruass gets screwed by his internet company and everyone else?

Was the sim still in the phone? If so you could try calling that number - the Budget employee's girlfriend who's using it now might be willing to mail you the CD!

My wife travels almost every week on business...rents from Budget. Has left her portable Garmin GPS in the car twice, along with some other misc. stuff (sunglasses, etc)...she's recieved all her items back from Budget with very little hassle... Customer service is America is both good and bad, and I can easly say MY worst experiences are those from "overseas" (no need to state which country) customer service operations. Just my 2 CP worth.

So, I hired a car for a week. I dropped it off and flew to Portland. On the plane I realised i left a cheap phone and a CD in the car. Went straight to Budget in Portnald and asked what to do. In the end I emailed them twice and called them twice, they wouldn't help me, they insisted I go to a recorded message service. A week later, no answer. Not one reply.

I left an MP3 player on a plane and 10 mins after getting off told them about it, told them the seat and *exactly* where it was and the answer 'sorry sir, there's nothing we can do'. How about 'look for it'? sigh

I left my GPS window mount in my Budget Rental car in Philly and when I got home I phoned them (direct to that facility) a couple days after check-in, and they said they had it, and asked me if wanted it shipped overnight or ground. I told them ground and the thing arrived about 5 days later at my house. They handled my problem very well. I guess I was lucky for once.

Wow - that's awesome. I did that, but I didn't remember in time to go back. 10 minutes ? I bet they were fighting over it already.
