OK, OK, so he hit a small snag. Obviously you wouldn't do this while remaining married. That's just bad juju :)

Pick any planet/moon from Sci-fi movies/literature or in our solar system. I think living on a moon oribiting Saturn would be awesome. :) Marc

If space stations count, I wouldn't mind living on Babylon 5.

Does the Death Star count as a planet? (I always secretly though the empire was way cooler than those namby pamby rebels)

Yeah, but they seem to have issues with quality control.

I'm not which is sadder - you for mentioning it, or me for actually immediately recognizing it and being able to identify it's context. :)

Mine would be a GSV belonging to The Culture ... yes I know they're a class of ship, but The Culture don't have planets and moons they have Orbitals and GSV's ... and a few (Nivern) Rings and (Dyson) Spheres.

Terminus seems to be a good place to live. Most planets in the Dune universe look awfully violent. Most planets in the StarTrek universe look too "dumbed down" (i.e. when most people wear pastel colored jump suit, you need to get away fast) Some planets in the Star Wars universe look really cool. ( Bespin, Naboo) Other than that, not much.

Wow, it's always sad to see so many people who's only concept of sci fi is star wars. Personally I think it would be fun to live on the space "ship" the "Gay Deceiver" from the RHL novels since it trumps *everything else* in one go as it can be taken to *any* mythological planet at any point in history. "In one of his later novels, The Number of the Beast, Heinlein introduced the character of Gay Deceiver, an intelligent space car which embodied his ability to transport readers to strange and exotic places. Gay Deceiver could travel not only through time and space, but between different fictional settings as well, depositing her passengers in L. Frank Baum's Oz, Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom, and—in a supremely self-referential leap—Heinlein's own "Future History". "

Yeah, just this one little bug. I mean, some insider or under-equipped rebels could use it to destroy the whole thing... but, hey, nobody would do that, right? Anyone, anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Speaking of freaky stuff, what about us living on earth in the future of movie Demolition Man. Tons of beautiful women, no bad guys on earth (except for two players from the past), and I'd bet The Game would never be simpler... In that world, I could be the next Tony Stark in one year.

From the original Alien movie, it's the planet that the Nostromo finds the derelict alien vessel that carries the eggs of the Alien. The vessel is broadcasting a distress signal. The crew investigates, one of them gets infected by the Face-Hugger (can't recall the character's name, but he's played by John Hurt), and you know the rest... :)
