Are you a nocturnal programmer?

I have a seriously screwed up sleeping cycle/rhythm right now. So, of course, I fired up the IDE and Winamp at 1800 hrs. Now its 0100 hrs, and I'm not even tired. absolutely, it's not only programing, just my entire biorythm has a stable nocturnal setting. It's sometimes a hassle with my nine-to-WYARBNB5* job. I have no problem with the schedule as such, but one night going to bed after 4.00am (not necessarily progging) makes my biorythm flip, and it's hard to switch back. When I get less than 5hrs sleep, I'm pretty much zombie the next day - but strangely enough, I get a "bioboost" between 6 and 8pm nonetheless. *WYARBNB5 : whenever you are ready, but not before five

I work night shifts and have done so for over two years, so it's all the same to me. - Jason (SonorkID 100.611) The Code Project - Orange makes the art grow fonder

Well, I haven't! :) I have to be at work every morning so I can't afford going to bed at 4am. Best regards, Alexandru Savescu

I'm the same. It's to the point where I'm useless between 8am and 1pm, a little better from 1-7, then from 7pm to 2am I'm firing on all cylinders. A couple of weeks ago I tried to reset my clock so I went to bed at 10:30pm. I ended up waking up at 2:30am and staring at the ceiling for 3 hours. Eventually got back to sleep and slept till 10am. Lesson learned! ;) cheers, Chris Maunder

I do a lot of programming of my own in the late evening and early morning, and I even work during the night sometimes. I find there isn't much work for vampires during the day. ** evil buffy-like-villan cackling laughter **
