Who is more majestic ?

Friends, During my childhood days I've heard lots of stories in which the Lion has a majestic image, as the King of the forest. But the more I read stories in Indian mythology my admiration for the elephant, its beauty and its loyality kept increasing.And then living in "God's own Country" - Kerala, I get to see the elephant more often that as I grew up I have felt, the elephant is the majestic of all animals. Even at the circus I have felt that an elephant captures my attention so powerfully that I rarely notice the roaring lions or the funny bears. BTW, I was wondering if there is anybody who hasn't seen a live jumbo?:~ Tweety It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.

To be honest I think either the Tiger or the Cheetah is more majestic then the Lion. A mature African bull elephant with decent tusks though is the animal I'd say that really rox. BTW: Did you know that there is an native Indian lion as well? Regardz Colin J Davies

To be honest I think either the Tiger or the Cheetah is more majestic then the Lion. A mature African bull elephant with decent tusks though is the animal I'd say that really rox. BTW: Did you know that there is an native Indian lion as well? Regardz Colin J Davies

Here in the US we have several places like that. They recreate the normal environment as closely as possible, import the animals, and let people drive through for a fee. Convertibles are not recommended vehicles... "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" "Knock, knock..."

As much as I love Elephants, a Lion fits the definition of majestic[^] better. Elephants are too friendly and "jolly" to be called majestic. They are towering, awe inspiring and inspiring, but not majestic. Probably the most graceful creature though is the Giraffe. Both are amazing animals but I'm biased towards lions. However, I wouldn't base any opinion on what I saw at the circus. Personally, I would never go to the circus as I don't agree with animals being made to perform for our pleasure. Likewise, I think it is immoral to cage such animals up. As for being more majestic, it is doubtful that an elephant could walk through a forest without at least uprooting or damaging many trees. Arguably, perhaps your adjectives are incorrect. I would say a whale is majestic, as is a Condor. Elephants have never struck me as particularly majestic. Magnificent yes, majestic, no. Majestic is the way my cat effortlessly walks along the shelf without disturbing a single ornament and then walks to her dinner bowl as though me feeding her is her God-given right (cats don't have owners, they have staff). :) "The folly of man is that he dreams of what he can never achieve rather than dream of what he can."

Living in Italy, I've not many chances to see those "majestic" animals and my direct knowledge of "wildlife" is limited to my dog and my cats. I think that cats can be majestic in their own way, because they seem to spend their time sleeping and not caring much about the rest of the world :). I think that a whale could also be called "majestic". I never saw a living whale (and never saw a dead one, to be honest :), only a skeleton in an acquarium, I don't rimember if it was in Lisboa or in Genoa) but I think that looking at something bigger than a bus jumping out of the water could be very impressive :) -- Looking for a new screen-saver?
