So, I downloaded the VMWare product for Mac and installed it. Then I tried to run it, I need a registration code. At that point, their site went down. Why would they ask for my email, email me, and then give me a link to go back for the code ? They got my details, why not send me the code ? Their site is down for 5 hours. I know this b/c I called to ask why/how long. They could not help me, I have to wait the 5 hours. So, I downloaded VirtualBox. It's smaller, free, and their site works. I am running XP on my Mac, at last.

Both VirtualBox and VMWare are working fine for me. The main difference from my point of view is that VMWare slower and more stable and VirtualBox faster, but crashed several times for some strange reason.

It's been a while since the last time I used VMware, but VirtualBox is very stable in my experience. I've never experienced a crash. Lucky me! :-D

Except that the binary version should not be used for other purposes but testing and evaluation. That's not very clear, anyway... :~

How does it handle video drivers? Does it emulate yours? VPC just uses a crappy one (not yours).

Have you installed VirtualBox tools? Or how do they call it in VirtualBox... :)

No but I think there's a command line command that I may be missing. While googling I see that a lot of people are having the same problem. The docs are not much use so I'm not sure what I need to do. It is an awesome product though! Thanks, Mike
