I paid, i think, $70 for mine. It didn't start out very comfortable, but improved greatly after i stuffed 930 $1 bills into the upholstery... :-\

Does anyone have any recommendations for super comfortable adjustable office chairs? The Recaro's look good, but are a little too expensive. Looking to spend in the $1000-1300 range.

For that price you can get a bicycle a good pair of running shoes and get yourself in such good shape that you could easily sit on a wooden box for 8 hours a day without feeling a thing. :)

I don't think the boss will buy me a bicycle or shoes...he did say I could buy a chair and get him one while I was at it. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't think too much of the wooden box idea, but thanks for the suggestion. :)

We use Herman Miller chairs back in India. They are very customisable and I'd solidly recommend them. I'd give you the model, but I'll in the UK for another 6 weeks. PS: They are imported from the US, so you shouldn't have a problem there.

                Cheers, Vikram.

Looks like the last one even had a seat belt! A saddle on a saw horse would probably be about the same. Mike

Yeah, the Aeron chairs are fantastic. Oh, and I almost forgot about Herman Miller Mirra® Chairs. I haven't tried one but the reviews say they are comparable to the Aeron chairs. They are a bit cheaper, especially when you are looking at the fully-loaded models. And some people prefer them for comfort and the simpler adjustments (read: less knobs).
