I have been looking at integration with Windows Live Services http://dev.live.com/[^] Has anybody tried using these? How well do they integrate in your web application? I'm trying to imagine allowing users that login to my site being able to update thier blogs but it seems like they would have already had to create one on windows live in the first place. There are alot of services available that would reduce the need for reinventing the wheel (chat, blog, etc...) I'm just looking to see how others are currently using the platform. It looks like there is alot of exciting stuff being created over there but integration with your own site isn't as seamless as I would like.

So, you have just volunteered yourself to write a comparison between Windows Live login and OpenID, thanks :) Let us know when you are done ;P

xacc.ide - now with TabsToSpaces support
      IronScheme - 1.0 alpha 4a out now (29 May 2008)

Well that's one of my biggest issues is how to integrate the live services when I already have a ton of users on my own login system. Everything I see only provides an iframe solution or complete redirect to windows live. I'm trying to avoid confusing users with multiple logins and at the same time not rewrite features that live services already provide. As far as comparing with Open ID, I don't have enough knowledge yet to say anything about it.

Actually after a bit more research I discovered this http://dev.live.com/tools/idloginviewapi.aspx[^] Looks like it attempts to map live id to your existing login system. Perhaps this will be an answer. Does Open ID have support for this type of thing?
