Hi Friends, I have installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 in my system, and I tried to open a new project, it is giving me the following error. IIS is installed in my system, it was installed before Visual Studio 2003 installed. Error: The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: "http://localhost/WebApplication1'. A connection with the server could not be established. Please help me. Thanks in Advance, Regards,

Try this, It worked for me Open VS.NET 2003 and go to TOOLS ->OPTIONS Select PROJECTS and goto WEB SETTINGS Click on CONNECTION SETTINGS and choose LAN SETTINGS In proxy server section check the "Bypass proxy server for local addresses". If it is grayed out, check "Use proxy server....." option but leave the address and port fields blank. Then check the second option and select OK for every window. You should be good to go...
