I saw it this weekend. Typical Pixar excellence. I've never been disappointed by them.:rose: They make the characters interesting, so you care about them. The scenery, sounds were superb. The audience with me concurred, judging by the laughter. I doubt many people will get all the levels put forward in the film, though. If it wasn't so bloody expensive, I'd see it again.

Still not out here, but I have a thing for Pixar's movies. Don't know how we're going to be able to see the movie, considering the little one will only breast feed :~ Maybe wait till its out on DVD... :(

In this area, theatres have regular times for moms with babies so they can see movies .

IIRC, Edmonton and Calgary both had that. Possibly a provincial thing, I'm not sure. They have early shows here... I'll need to call to double check. There's always the fear that the sound might be too loud for the little one :)

I heard somewhere that the other studios were considering a lawsuit on Pixar for unfair competition: they don't make crappy movies.

And have you seen Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, Fantastic Four or any other totally unoriginal movie based on a COMIC BOOK?? Seems that's ok to most people since they are live-action. Mention you saw a fantastic ORIGINAL movie, that happens to be animated, and suddenly you're ridiculed.

I saw it last week-end. I really rocked. The guy who said "An image is worth a thousand words" gets totally justified there. It was as good as Cars (I haven't seen Ratatouille yet, damn me), typical Pixar success. Just... it's unbelievable how many stuff - subtle or not - they can squeeze into a movie... references, jokes (inside or not - "A113" has been a long time inside joke among them, ask Wikipedia), messages... Visually it was also excellent. They pushed their limit again. Who would think about making trash so real-looking? All Pixar movies are among the rare movies that move me in some way. That's freaken cool. Worth seeing.

This was one of the few movies I've been to where I actually turned to see where the sound came from. There are a few places where you see Wall-e go off screen to do something, like turn on a light. Then you hear the switch off to one side or another. Might have just been one of the movie-makers showing off, but it really was cool.
