What do people here like to do when they are away from work? I like working with my hands, enjoying gadgetry, and traveling.

He, I'm really bad with hand working, I failed "Drawing" at Kindergarden 1. ;P I like reading a lot, from math and technical things to sci-fi and fantasy. I like romanticism and the 98 generation. I don't like modernism though, and sometimes (if I'm in the mood) I could enjoy vanguardism. Also, I like langagues. And of course, video games (especially RPGs and Strategy).

Mostly from the web. I put together quite a list of bookmarks from years of searching for information and parts. slang terms not withstanding... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_flute[^] I play a double flute, two flutes in one, one flute is a single note compliment to the other flute which is pentatonic in scale. You can play one, or both simultaneously. I have about a dozen others now, but that is my favorite as it was made just for me.

Actually, I AM writing a novel. And I tinker with my arcade machine (MAME) and Pinball (Dr. Who) Play with the PS3 occasionally (when the boy lets me) and DS Lite (ditto) Develop software for myself, friends, fun and profit (little) Play Half Life 2 DeathMatch online (REALLY BADLY) And look after the animals (2 x dog, 3x Alpacas, 1 x fish) And browse the job sites looking for a job with less hours for more pay.

I used to enjoy photograpy, building models, word wood working and gardening. Now, I just hang out in the soapbox. :~
Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

Play acoustic guitar, go to the gym and play basketball, play men's softball, go bike riding with my son, do some fun programming with my pet projects.

Yes, I was aware that you played an actual instrument... So how did you come to have one made for you? Did you go and get one hand made, or it was a gift? A custom?

Aikido takes up most of my hobby time (to the extent that I'm having a dojo built into my new house :) ), other than that, reading, computer gaming, playing piano...

I used to bring work home, i've learned my lesson now come 4:00 i'm out of the office, and the work will stay there until the morning :) Now I go home and work on a project with my girl friend (shes a mechanical engineer) building a robot
