          i call () Brackets but i think that's a UK term Parenthesis may also be used you could use an expression like the method's parameter list if you're interested in describing the specific case you are talking about there. if you are using List i would use the expression "of classname" like "List of Points" {} are braces or curly brackets depending on where you come from but you could also use expressions like "code block", "if block" etc to describe what the block is.
