Perhaps this will be the first batman movie ever that doesn't suck very badly.

No, I didn't like any of them. I thought they were amongst the most overhyped crappiest movies ever produced for so much money and designed to sell marketing gewgaws at burger king or wherever. Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy was about the best thing out of all of them. Then again I think pretty much every superhero movie has sucked badly to date but my standards are pretty high and my tastes are pretty eclectic, I want more than a mindless script with poor actors badly directed and hung together with effects and cgi.

I've not seen any of the Keaton/Burton Batman movies, so I can't comment. I did enjoy Batman Begins from two or three years ago. Also, I'd rank the first two Spiderman movies as pretty decent as far as superhero movies go. They can do some wonderful things with CGI today, but occassionally they overreach themselves, in my opinion, and the effects call more attention to themselves than they should. Case in point: The I Am Legend movie had some really hooky zombies. For what it's worth, my post was intended as a joke. The link was to a trailer for the 1966 Batman movie starring Adam West. A complete over the top hoot. :-)

It was the best of a sad lot which isn't saying much. It started out promising as a movie for adults with actual interesting characterization then sadly it quickly devolved into silly action scenes and effects for their own sake for the remainder of the movie and any possible interest in the characters was dumped down the toilet. If they had made the whole movie as well as the first little part then they would have had something.

Well, I doubt you'll find the Dark Knight to be much different.
cheers, Paul M. Watson.

I'm very interested... and more than a bit apprehensive... to see how The Watchmen[^] translates to the screen. I've never been a big fan of either comic books or "superheros"*, but i sat and read that, er, novel straight through. *with the exception of Sam & Max
