    Until March 18, 2009... Free, unlimited installation and compatibility support is now available for all worldwide customers using Windows Vista SP1. Telephone support is available worldwide.         If the early reports I've read about Windows 7 are true you won't want that either. Eventually, support for XP will end like all other OS' and you'll have to pick something :)

          Microsoft offer free support on all their service packs. Also on all security patches.

            No kidding...free support? Shouldn't they support for free already by virtue of the fact you paid for the damn product?

              Retail copies of Windows include two free support incidents. If, however, you bought your copy from an OEM, preinstalled on your computer, your support is through that OEM. That's why OEM copies are cheaper. If you bought an OEM edition of Windows separately, through the System Builder channel, you are your own support engineer. Good luck. As I said below, Microsoft offer free support on all service packs and security patches, not just Vista SP1.
