After breaking out of prison with the help of his wife... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25840140[^] It's really to bad he didn't off himself before the taxpayers spent money on his trial, and I'd be willing to bet his wife was a willing accomplice in his spamming activities, so taking her with him probably wasn't a bad thing, but to include the children is way beyond being okay.

He was doing 21 months in a minimum security prison. What a coward. That he destroyed his family without compunction doesn't surprise me. I only hope that some of the other spammers decide this is an object lesson. You're right, its a shame about the 3 year old.

Whoa! :omg: Florence is just up the road from here, so i'd heard about the escape... missed this news last night though. We should have work camps for spammers. Another failure of our system...

You feel far more kindly towards them than I do. To my mind this guy did a lot more damage to society and was far more of a threat to public order than the average impulse homicider.

Now he is eligible for a Darwin Award having removed his ability to reproduce as well as if offspring in a stunning display of human stupidity. Personally, I hate to read about children dying but as a country (US Specific rant begin) we have taken God out and replaced it with the theory of Darwinism. If that is the national consensus I do not see the problem with allowing the practice of the same.

You're pretty far outside of the context of the act. The Darwin award is reserved for people who do stupid shit that causes them to die (or become incapable of reproducing). This guy didn't perform a stupid act. He performed an intentional act with the intent of causing harm to himself and others. It also has nothing to do with taking "God" out and replacing him with the theory of Darwinism. This guy was a coward, plain and simple. God and Darwin weren't watching, and they didn't have a hand (directly or indirectly) in his actions.

Not really. He shot himself on purpose rather than by accident. It might be desirable to have one less spammer in the world, but that doesn't automatically make it eligible for a Darwin Award.

I second that! But way only the spammers, what about spyware authors? They steals your credit card number, killing your computer performance, encrypt all your data with random RSA keys and blackmail you for the money or for buying there “AV software”, causing loses for millions and millions of dollars and a lot of nerves. And when eventually they are cached the only penalty is one year in “holiday camp prison”, or even just a fine. Just for comparison, some poor stupid bastard, committed a gas station robbery with plastic gun and taking $78 from the cash will receive how mach? 20 years in a max security prison? I’m not justify the guy with the plastic gun, I simply want the equal penalties for the morons causing loses for millions.

The narrow specialist in the broad sense of the word is a complete idiot in the narrow sense of the word.

You have to separate my paragraph into two thoughts: 1) I would like to care about the fact that he shot his child but it is hard for me in the context of the fact that if the theory of evolution is such a mighty and all important idea that any disagreement of such is met with irrational attacks from Darwinism supporters (notice the attack on me as a troll one post up) then I find myself unable to have sympathy for some idiot taking his genetics out of the Gene pool. I am constantly amazed at the logical disconnect people have between the two issues of Darwinism and Faith. If God doesn't exist and Darwinism is supreme then this idiot did us all a favor. If God trumps Darwinism then it is sad that a young life had to die for some plan we can't understand. You can have one sentiment or the other but not both. Yet constantly, the dumb masses choose both and I find it annoying. 2) Killing yourself and murdering your family is pretty stupid and far from an intelligent decision.

Thinking that way, wouldn't any person who (tries to) commit(s) suicide automatically deserve to die because of his/her stupidity? I see logic there.. but maybe a bit harsh

Sadly only programmers would get that joke.

Thinking that way, wouldn't any person who (tries to) commit(s) suicide automatically deserve to die because of his/her stupidity? I see logic there.. but maybe a bit harsh

Calling them stupid may be harsh but if, genetically, a certain segment of humanity is predisposed to suicide then removing that segment would decrease the suicide rate among the general population. If I were a betting man I would suggest that it would be a greater benefit to the populations of humans if they weren't all suicidal. This statement is a reflection of Darwinism and not my individual belief. Like I said, I just like bringing it up because of the inconsistency of human compassion and the insistence that Darwinism is right.

Actions have consequences regardless of what we use to explain them. Greed and hubris pave the way to destruction regardless of whether they're lauded or decried. Accept that children dying is a consequence of the world in which we live. But don't let yourself become callous.

I don't see how your comment fits into my statement. Perhaps you need an education in English, Theology, and Darwinism. But rather than bait you I will just suggest you read and understand my post rather than react.

"we have taken God out and replaced it with the theory of Darwinism" seems pretty straightforward to me. It implies that you have to choose between religion or believing in evolution. Can you please show me another hidden meaning on it? My 2 points: 1) "God" and "Darwinism" are not contradictory (just ask the Pope and Edmund Wilson, both Christians that respect the theory of evolution). 2) "Darwinism" is an incorrect term for evolution. It doesn't exist in biology in the same way that "Turing-ism" doesn't exist in computing science. Evolution is the bedrock of biology in the same way the Turing machine is the bedrock of Computing Science. They are not "isms" or "doctrines" (or "just theories", in the non-scientific meaning of theory). Now, if you're referring to bastard derivations like "social Darwinism" you'd better be clear about it.
