iPhone coming to India on Aug 22nd

iPhone is coming to India on Aug 22nd exactly after a week from India's Independence day. Vodafone and Airtel are the official carriers. No price details are disclosed yet. Customers can buy iPhone at Airtel/Vodafone outlets starting Aug 21 mid-night. Rumors are that cost might be around Rs.21000/- INR. Indian service providers will not subsidize the iPhone. Lets see how many millions of iPhones will be in hands of Indian's in the first week. PS: India is in 2nd position in mobile market after China

Romania also gets it on the same date. I reckon other 2nd/3rd world countries as well. :) A bit odd, here Orange will be the official carrier, even though we have Vodafone too. No details about the price yet.
Good to hear that. Are you going to purchase it on first day ? :) Just to know if you are interested in iPhone. I've become a die-hard fan of Apple after getting an iMac and it started to increase after using iPhone. I love 'em. PS: I'm a die-hard fan of MS though. It is good to have best side of both of them !! :D

oh great. I've got some friends who still use old phones. They are not interested in fancy things. They just use the phone to answer/make a call and to send/receive SMS. So so simple :)

Nope, I'm not gonna get it for a number of reasons: - I don't have a plan with Orange and don't intend to. - the iPhone will probably very expensive and it does not deliver so many features to justify the price. It's just that logo which you pay for. - it's too big to fit in my pocket. PS: If you are not easily offended read this review http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone[^]. That's a lot of money for a cell phone. Of the 21000, an unknown percentage will go into the account of one Shahrukh Khan and one ugly looking pug. I'd rather have it myself for now. :rolleyes:

That part is true, stupid buzzword, but thats Apple marketing for you. But the browser is fantastic. I can't believe he honestly believes a full tactile keyboard and a screen about 1x1 inches is preferable over a touch screen keyboard (which is actually very easy to use) and a 3.5inches wide

I'm afraid our network guys X| are going to block CP as well, coz I'm posting too much today !!. They just block everything I visit :mad:, they don't at least let me check live Cricket score :wtf:. I've been trying to crack wireless connection password from many days to access web from my iPhone. No luck yet!!
