I play Guild Wars occasionally, which kicks ass. I can't think of any reason to switch to WoW. You gotta be nuts to pay $19 a month for the right to play a video game. (GW has no monthly fees)

Tried it. Level 10 kill fifty of the red monsters that look like dogs. Level 30 kill fifty of the monsters that look like dogs only now they're green. Wow!!! Got bored. Stopped.

Moonguard I just started this week after 3 years of GW, thought I'd try it. Biggest change for me was the lack of instances (so far), and having to jog all over the world. I miss porting to towns. I hear that's possible at higher levels? I still see the lamers on chat, I still solo everywhere.

Hi my name is Guy and I am a WOWaholic. Well I was till a few years ago - got to 60 then got bored - basically it became a grind fest after 50  Up to that point it was fun :-D

That's why Guild Wars is more fun. There are only 20 levels and it takes a lot less time to max than WoW. In the factions campaign I reached lvl 20 in about a week, playing 2-3 hours a day. So in a few words, it's "play more, grind less". And of course, pay nothing, except for the initial game purchase.

No I don't because I can find better ways to spend my free time. Honestly, I think people who spend that much time playing a game, even more, pay monthly fee to spend their time glued to a computer are a little nuts.

It's pretty bizarre. We do occasional work for an MMO and while it is strikingly complex and detailed from a programmer's point of view I've never understood the appeal.

Hi, I'm a programmer and I really nuts. I played everquest for ages then switch to WOW during beta and still play occansionally, I have to many characters on to many servers to list :)

It's not my fault you suck.

Started with EQ1, 3 years and grinding my ass off, so...I played WoW for a couple years (from BETA), got 2 toons to 70, several more at lower levels. I had several real life friends that played. But it got old, repetitive and BORING. Everyone just up and quit, so I moved over to EQ2. Have also tried Eve, LOTRO, some others but right now I feel like there's a flat spot in the industry with no real ground breaking games (though they all think they really are).

Played on Uther at launch... After 3 level 60s (rogue, druid, mage) I got bored enough to quit. I thought I'd come back after the first expansion but never did. DDO is my MMO of choice. The world seems a LOT smaller simply because a 5 min run is about the longest you will ever have to do but I would actually say it has almost as much content as WoW in terms of playable area. Unfortunately the PvP is VERY limited and the solo content is lacking but it is always fun to enter a mission that is normally 5 manned either solo or with a single friend and be able to complete it. And I would prefer a few more dragons/dragonkin in the game... Other than that, great game
