Its a real shame as they were putting a lot of effort in and looked like they were going to win. :(

"Heartbreak. Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson lose 21-19 21-12 to South Korean pair Lee Hyo Jung and Lee Yong Dae. The Brits were outplayed really and there will be no repeat of their 2004 heroics. That was Emms' last professional match - she retires after the Games." Quote from BBC

It was originally amateurs only so that aristocrats could win, e.g. the rowing, because members of the lower classes who worked on the river would have won easily otherwise.

Retired from the Sport amid Tears! Hey, a great career and now they can go on "A Question of Sport" as oldies!

I only saw the last set - sadly it seemed that they had forgotten to hit it OVER the net :( Shame. Still, if the BBC have their way I'm sure that they'll put it down to another "Greatest Ever Olympian" performance by Michael Phelps, even though he had nothing to do with it. I hope my license fee isn't going towards paying for all the Kleenex to mop up around the presenter's sofas.

I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)
