TCP/IP server testing

Is there any TCP/IP server testing tool available for testing load and scalability. I want a tool in which i can implement my protocol for performing tests. If any one knows it then please inform me.

bakhtawar wrote: i can implement my protocol No tool is available which would allow you to implement your protocol using a nice, friendly GUI. You'd have to change the source code to an existing tool for that. Or write your own; it shouldn't take long to create a simple console client which spawns a bunch of threads and hammers your server. bibamus, edamus, cras moriemur

Funnily enough we had a similar requirement, so we wrote our own (kstress). Sadly is is very specific to our system... :(( Before deciding to embark on our own path re: a TCP/IP stress application, we used to have to rent one that Bull use. This meant sending someone over to Bull in France with a copy of our system, installing it on their server and then letting them stress-test it for us. Pants!
Such a pretty house and such a pretty garden.

Have you taken a look at the tool that's presented in this article? It provides a framework, written in C# that allows you to write your own protocol specific plug in and configure it using XML. You can configure the number of threads that it uses, but at present each thread only manages a single connection. Len Holgate www.jetbyte.com The right code, right now.
