Apple has finally acknowledged the iPhone 3G's reception issues, confirming that the iPhone OS 2.0.2 software update was designed to fix those problems. link[^] Well that only took how many weeks? In Apples defense though, maybe they were using iPhone 3G for communicating their investigative findings on the issue. :-\

It's interesting to me that people always revert to 'well Microsoft is worse'. It's not true. Apple is worse in so many ways. Microsoft is just more successful.

I know - business is business :) people just believe in Apple more because of their outer shell and all the media stuff they do which "looks gorgeous". I have to say I prefer Apple products to MS ones though, but you're right, Apple are no saint. Regards, --Perspx

Microsoft did the same thing with the Xbox360 "red ring of death" issue. They claimed it didn't exist until a year or so later after a class action lawsuit started. They ended up extending the warranty by a year or three and covering much of the costs for replacment. But even to this day people get back refurbished models that end up doing the same thing after a short period of time.

Yeah, that must be the reson why they [Apple] never disclose informations about updates. Oh yeah, I especially appricate this way of acknowledgement of the issues[^]. Yes, they eventually did something about it. It's now almost certain they didn't fix it completely[^]. Good for them, they did something, but nobody knows what... But hey it is Apple, they make cool things and Microsoft is Evil.

Microsoft may be the evil ones, but lets face it, Dath Vader was way cooler than Kenobi

Perhaps people love apple because its such an innocent association, how can an apple be bad? I myself feel this love towards apple, their products are excellent, but they do have problems, my iphone has had to be completely wiped twice and once it took several days before the restore function worked, i was left with an inoperable brick. However for some reason i still love it. NOT TO MENTION how proprietary EVERYTHING they do is! Apple only works well with apple if they can help it. Microsoft do seem to be making efforts to make things more open. Perhaps its just the name. "Microsoft decide to take over the world and enslave humanity" headline fits but "the evil cooperation apple"?

I know what you mean but I find it boring rather than interesting. :)
