Conversation of the day
-
What happened before: We needed a nice home page picture for a new website about cars. As we were out of great ideas, we agreed to keep the topic in mind, create one draft each at home and compare our ideas another day. The boss had mentioned before that comics would be modern, so I decided to please him and draw a comic-like fun picture. Then I scanned my draft and mailed it to our web designer. He liked it, the boss found it okay, so he integrated my drawing into the home page. Today in the office: Meeting time. The web designer presents the current status of the web site. Collegue A: By the way, how did you do that? Corinna: The outlines with fineliner[^], the background with markers. Collegue A: So, Fineliner is a software? Corinna: *smiles and gives him the original piece of paper* ... That was a strange conversation. Do I look like I cannot switch off the computer, steal a page from the printer and draw with a pen? Are there people out there who forgot that paper is possible? We all are geeks and I start to think I'm not the biggest one... :-D Anyway, this meeting saved my day! :-D
This statement is false.

I usually get someone to fax me a blank page, or type a memo in white and print that! :)

Good for you! It's important to not forget that some of the best killer apps started off as doodles on the backs of envelopes, far away from any computer. :) /ravi

Fax a blank page, yeah, that is a good idea! But as my printer leaves grey bars on every page, printing a blank memo won't work well...

When I'm coming up with a new design or just noting down values while debugging, I find a pen and paper far preferable to Notepad or anything my computer has to offer.
Cheers, Vıkram.
