I like it a lot, but it could have been better. Hetfield's voice just seems so dull, but the musical line resembles their old stuff like Sanitarium or Fade To Black, which I love. OT, did you noticed that their site is written in classic ASP?

First part of the song is Load/Reload era. Later part is like you say. I've heard it twice. It sounded better on the second listen. Apparently there is a buzz about the album. Let's hope it improves on St. Anger! :) Didn't spot the classic ASP. Of course, CP was classic ASP for quite a long time.

My 14 yr old daughter is into this type of music and has the usual Appetite for Destruction, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden stuff. I don't know a lot about Metallica - is there a definitive album that would be a good one to get her for Xmas? I'm more a Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake sort of guy (not got up to speed with all this modern stuff from the mid 80's :))

I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

It depends whether she already has some of their music - in my opinion, Metallica's best albums are probably Black Album and Master of Puppets, but if she already has these then you could try their new album Death Magnetic which comes out in a few weeks :) Regards, --Perspx

The best period IMO is these series of albums Ride the Lightning Master of Puppets ...And Justice For All The Black Album (Metallica) is the most commercially successful. I would say Ride the Lightning is a good one to start with.

My taste is more informed by 70s classic and heavy rock and late 70s-derived metal. But Metallica is one of the later bands I like. Other than that I too am not up to speed with "this modern stuff from the mid 80's." :)

It's commonplace for streamed versions to be available for free.

True, but they encoded it as an ASF so no one can save to the HD.

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoloy card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game UNO.

In the movie "The Matrix", Chuck Norris is the Matrix. If you pay close attention in the green "falling code" scenes, you can make out the faint texture of his beard.

Chuck Norris actually owns IBM. It was an extremely hostile takeover.
