5-a-side footie (soccer for the wrong-thinkers among us - I mean how can American football be football - they hold the ball in their hands 95% of the time). Spend an hour running around getting sweaty, shouting at other people and trying to inflict grievous harm on them. What could be better :-)

watching movie's, taking the dog for a walk, drawing on the pc in either illustrator or sketchup (I know strange but it relaxes me what can I say), playing a game on the pc (not to long get's boring after a while), or going out (sometimes coding for fun, but hasn't happened latly)

Spending my hard earned cash on my hobby. Building, flying and crashing radio control model airplanes. Gets me out in the fresh air (or rain and wind as we mostly get in the UK). Fairly vital after a long week in the office behind monitor. http://www.youtube.com/user/ditchit

Children. I have two beautiful[1] little girls and just being with them is enough to relax me. Even when they're being the Terror Monsters from the Darkest Pit. I also have a half hour on the train to get home, so I read a book; it's very good detox. Alternating between fiction and non-fiction. I'm going to start reading Pterry's "Moving Pictures" tonight. [1] After thirty *cough* *cough* and a bit years, I still think to myself "'Boiled eggs are useful to Italians', fumed Uncle Leonard" whenever I have to spell beautiful. I was told that ONCE when I was about six.

Panic, Chaos, Destruction. My work here is done.

I read, dive (scuba), climb (indoor bouldering), hit the gym, and occasionally play a little WoW. Since I spend all day in front of a computer, I like to get out and about to relax.

Climbing's my thing too. Do a bit of bouldering but not as much as I ought to. Most other exercise I do is just to get myself in shape for the rock. My fingers are still trying to recover from a weekend hauling up some really flinty rock near Swanage.

I've only just started, so still on the indoor stuff. Plus I tend to head to the wall by myself, so boulding is my only option really. I know what you mean about your fingers recovering, first time I spent a few hours climbing, I had real trouble typing the next day at work :)

Depends how much you want to spend. You could buy something cheap, ready to fly for 100USD, or you could buy anything up to a twin gas turbine F-18 for 20,000USD. Depends how much your crappy software development job pays. LOL.

I used to do the same, go along to boulder at a local wall and then after meeting a few people started on the roped stuff. You spend half the next day trying to stretch your fingers straight at first. Where do you climb, I didn't think there was much about in the Ipswich area? I was in Bungay on holiday in may and had to go a whole week without any climbing at all. It's such a great sport when you get going, gets you to places you wouldn't normally see and teaches you a lot about yourself.
