Judas Priest - CG - CF - What A Time!!!

I'm surprised at the brevity of Christian's post but I attribute it to two things. Foremost he's still traversing the country and second he probably was giving me a set so that I could drop a full dose on the show. Through some strange luck and circumstances I was able to meet Christian in San Francisco and quite the pair we made. He's very high energy, moves quickly thinks quickly and knows what he is after. I on the other hand am a bit more docile, intense under the surface and like to let things develop as I go. We made a good team of me driving and he navigating and doing so safely thanks in large part to TomTom. We saw as much of San Francisco as we could and it was great. Then we hopped in for a trip to the Shoreline Amphitheater to see "Masters of Metal" a show comprised of Testament, Motorhead, Heaven and Hell and Judas Priest. Now I'm all for metal but I'm pretty blah for concerts. They just don't do much for me. I feel if you have been to one you've been to them all. Go buy the album and take it in somewhere that isn't teaming with loonies and fanatics chanting and behaving wildly. So I was a bit apprehensive to get to the show but someone had to drive and drive I did. We missed Testament. No big deal I thought one less thing to sit through. Then Motorhead came on. I found myself up on my feet and just literally absorbing one incredible experience. It was loud, raucous and it ended with debauchery but it was an excellent show. Once it concluded I looked at Christian with a bit more disgust. I was now peeved at missing Testament. Motorhead was just awesome, a good show (a bit short), positively rocking. Then came the setup for Heaven and Hell. I was gone trying to find a place to stash the memorabilia that Christian had pillaged and when I got back the stage was set for Heaven and Hell. They did a nice job on the stage and it was a fantastic show. Those guys really did a nice job even though they were not the headliners it was pretty incredible. Now Priest... That was just insane, unreal, positively awesome. I don't know that I could say enough about that show. It pretty much fragged the whole audience into a frenzy that was both fun, intensely focused and yet completely happy with the thunderous assault that rolled off the stage like an advancing horde. We were 8th row and my gosh. The sound was clean, the detail and showmanship vivid. I kept thinking these guys are my fathers age and this show is positively shreading. They didn't miss a single chance to over-exploit the audience and with each song

I remember seeing Motorhead in the early 80s. Just one big wall of noise!
