No Silverlight? No Xbap? Yeah, i'll be cryin' in my beer over that one. :-\

You're right. These facts that you've laid out totally contradict the wild ramblings that I pulled off the back of cornflakes packets.
Yeah, it's not a biggie. I'll just have to use IE7 for VS. I saw your other post on IE8 processes. Yesterday, I had 6 IE8 processes active and only had one tab going so I killed each one. Back to IE7. I'll have to screw around with Chrome some more, at least for my Xbap app.

You're joking right? Silverlight, MS Live and SSRS are the *only* things I've found that don't work. No great surprises there :) Have you tested how fast it is! I thought Firefox 3 left IE 7 for dead, but Chrome stomps them both. Colour me impressed. Even if I don't defect from FF completely, I'll be using Chrome for Gmail/Calendar/Reader. Bet MS are not happy...what happens when BIOS makers start embedding this open source bad boy, given the screaming performance, a lot of web-centric users could just bypass the O/S completely!

No Xbap? OHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Worse is no middle-click on a tab to close it and no mouse gestures, dammit!

I'm using Chrome now, and can close tabs with a middle-click just fine... I'm sure they'll eventually "steal" the extension idea from the other browsers, then you can get (or make) whatever you want. :)

XBAP applications do work in google chrome, however you have to set your environments PATH variable to the directory where xpcom.dll is located. for example SET PATH=PATH;"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" or you can copy the dll's to where chrome.exe is located
