Here is an idea for a poll. Who, past or present, has an interesting mind ? This was triggered by the death recently of Dijkstra. Some of his thoughts are amazing and have stimulated thousands if not millions to think in new ways. A couple of suggestions to get things rolling: Terry Pratchett His Discworld series is amazing and introduces some incredible conecpts. Some who can think with the safeties off  Tex Avery Cartoonist, again with some amazing concepts. Lots of great ideas, very original. Have fun, Elaine :rose: Would you like to meet my teddy bear ?
Douglas Adams. Ray Bradbury. Robert Heinlein. Stephen Hawking. Robert Heilbrunner Peter Drucker. B. Kliban Alan Watts. M. C. Escher. Just to mention a few favorites... "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" "Knock, knock..."

Same one. He actually designed more than just the alien for the first film, he pretty much designed all the sets. :omg: Cheers, Simon "Sign up for a chance to be among the first to experience the wrath of the gods.", Microsoft's home page (24/06/2002)
Apparently he even designed strange bars. "Quand tu sèmes ta haine tu récoltes la Kalachnikov Love" -Kalachnikov Love, Alpha Blondy

I've got a book of HR Giger's work; no doubt he is an absolutely brilliant, disturbed, sick person. The images are incredibly detailed, you can stare at some of them for hours and still not have more than a vague overview of them. Currently, my favorite HR Giger website is The h2 Unofficial H.R. Giger Gallery[^]

Douglas Adams. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy series is fantastic. Reading is a hobby to me, and I can safely say I never read anything like this series, both in humor and, well, sensible strangeness. If you havn't read any of his works, chances are you wouldn't understand, if you did, well, you do. -- Young Basic programmers never die... they just GOSUB and never RETURN.
