You can take the test here[^]. :) Interestingly enough, if you look at the scores[^] for the candidates for the U.S. presidential election, the most left-leaning Democratic candidate is NOT Barack Obama, but Dennis Kucinich. On the Republican side, the most right-leaning candidate is actually Ron Paul, and the most left-leaning candidate among the Republicans is John McCain. What's disturbing about all this is that aside from Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel, all of the candidates from the primaries are in the Right Authoritarian quadrant. So no matter who you decide to vote for in the Right/Left Wing of the U.S. political system, you're actually choosing a Right Authoritarian. In other words, both wings of the system are in the same quadrant, and what you essentially get is a false choice. Anyway, back to my question--what was your score, and which candidate will you vote for?

-8.38 -2.10 To the left of ghandi but slightly more authoritarian than ghandi. Stupid work ethic Absolutely no surprise there, though I may be getting more authortarian as I get older.

I'm willing to bet that she falls squarely on the RA quadrant, as well. Now that I think of it, I have yet to see anyone here with an Economic Right score greater than three, despite the fact that there seems to be a lot of posts regarding which candidate is better, and why. What you have is a lot of 'lefties' that are arguing which (geometrically) right wing candidate is more suited to their needs. Does anyone else here smell the irony?

I think it's clear to anybody that there are no left-wing party in the US, the choice for the presidential election is between the center-right and the right wing.

Economic Left/Right: -3.12 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.79 Slightly libertarian, slightly left - just like mah hero, Thomas Jefferson. I'm thinking I might write in Ron Paul's name. My state is as red as it gets, so my vote for President is meaningless, but a little extra work for the poll counters is worth the effort.

Why is this a surprise? America has been right/authoritarian since Andy Jackson.

Yes, your hero would have agreed that the state should not be empowered to force anyone's moral/political beliefs upon others - including his own.

Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

The libertarians quiz is notoriously known to be biased, even more than most of the other online political tests. That said, Tovorich Kucinich has ran on the ultra loony left fringe of the dem party for decades because IIRC his district includes O'Berlin college, which gives Berzerkly a run for it's money as the most leftist college in the nation.

2.25 -3.03 So a right wing libertarian, but not too far from center. No surprise to me.

                                  Do you know...LinFu?

Questions such as this: Those with the ability to pay should have the right to higher standards of medical care . Are heavily biased, so I won't take it. It isn't a question of 'rights' one way or another. So one cannot agree or disagree with it as expressed. It is a question of whether free market economics or collectivist economics provides the most people with the best possible health care.

Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.
