If this data is to be believed, the newly implemented five-install limit should be more than enough to keep customers happy, along with the to-be-released deauthorization system. Still, the very idea of any kind of limit seems to gall many gamers, who believe this system turns their game purchases into glorified rentals. It's likely these new "loosened" restrictions will be hit with the same vitriol.
I trust everyone here sees the fallacy of assuming the status 2 weeks after the game is released accurately reflects the long term situation as PCs die and can't be de-authorized because they no longer exist, gradually burning up the total limit.

I wonder how many of those people bitching and moaning about it and downloading out of spite would actually go out and buy if it had no DRM at all.

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoloy card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game UNO.
In the movie "The Matrix", Chuck Norris is the Matrix. If you pay close attention in the green "falling code" scenes, you can make out the faint texture of his beard.
Chuck Norris actually owns IBM. It was an extremely hostile takeover.

- Edward V. BerardI just skipped it completely. I'd buy it from Fry's it I wasn't initially turned off by DRM.

Same here - looked like it might be a bit of entertainment, but if I buy a game, I'd like to be able to play it no matter what. I still have a few DOS games I fire up sometimes, none of which are still supported in any way. What happens to one of these stupid DRM games when the game is no longer supported?
