if you get desperate there is always the desert in NM.... you might have to rescue a baby squirrel from a rattlesnake or two, but it is always interesting out here.... There is a mythical chinese curse lurking in that statement, but it really is always interesting out here too. :)

Well, that etc covers a multitude of sins doesn't it? I would say that 100% of codeproject users are of India, United States, China, etc.

Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

Is it the fact that the 'crunchy' bits are on the outside when you eat them?

I just love Koalas - they go great with Bacon.

Taking each country's population into account... Isn't this significant, too?

As I said on another post - I originally came up with the joke to offend 'sensitive' Victorians. However after trying it on some Queensland aboriginals, there was an initial laugh, followed by some quick contemplation and an agreement that it was probably worth a try. After which came a discussion about what animals made the best tucker - surprisingly short, as everyone quickly agreed that Rainbow Lorikeet was the best eating.

Hmmm, considering the number of people in India, who are in to Software, I guess this is expected.

I know Graus is getting some comments about this. There are some great Indians on this board who do an awesome job. However, when the majority of "bad" questions and rejected articles are from people in India, or have Indian sounding names it's easy to make sweeping generalizations. We see this when talking about Islam in the SoapBox (and that's ALL I will say about that in the Longe). As an unemployed software engineer and interviewed with a company who didn't hire me and said they farm code to India, it makes me more cynical about the situation.

I'd have assumed that without even checking. The US would be significant, just because. India would be biggest for obvious reasons - the forums are full of indians who take work they can't do, and use CP to get it done.

Don't get me started...in 2000, a fast-talking 25yo smart guy from Poona, brought in with about a dozen others from an Indian outsourcing firm to flesh out the development team for an Internet startup of which I was half the original development team, got my manager to make him project leader because he "learned HTML in a weekend" and taught himself Visual Basic...of course, prior to his appointment, he'd never actually done ANY programming professionally...the manager thought I was lying when I told him this, and banished me to maintenance...three failed software releases later, the smart guy was moved to a documentation project in California by his company (well away from us), my manager got "kicked upstairs" to a job he was competent at, and I burned out to a flickering crisp from trying to fix the damage and, after fending off a parting-shot attempt by my manager to get me fired, got layed off instead (difference being I collected unemployment, plus it looked better in future interviews). Then there were the two programmers from the same consulant who could barely speak English, spent all their time learning VB instead of programming - I actually walked one of them through all the code she needed to implement a specific project (moderate modifications of code that me and my associate had written two years earlier), then watched as she failed to make ANY headway for the ensuing two months. Mind, some of the finest developers and managers I know are Indian expats, including especially Ganesh Nathan, a former boss of mine, and tales such as the above are not unique to the world's largest democracy (I have a few tales about Russians as well). "A few bad apples....".

Yep, CodeProject is more popular in Iran than it is here in its native country.* :) *That's not entirely true, of course, since popularity is generally represented per capita, which this is of course not, and Iran has about twice the population of Canada.

Iran is #6, and correction: Canada is #9. Either I miscounted the first time or it just went up a spot. :)
