I did a search on both Google and Yahoo. I came up with a couple of free trials but the 'free' software is really crap. Does anybody know a really good DVD label making program that doesn't require giving body parts in return? :)

The thing that came with the Nero suite was useable, though I don't know if they still include it...I'm still using version 6.x that I got with a drive and it's up to 9.x now.

I haved used Surething CD/DVD Labeler[^] for years. It's not perfect but then, what software is. But it is good enough I've never wanted to look into any other programs that do the same thing. There is a 15 day free trial and after that it is something like $25 to buy (they have several versions, different prices).

Buy a printer that can print directly on the DVD/CD. I can get them for less than AUD$200.00 you hould be able to get cheaper of there. The driver CD will have an application for doing exactly what you need, also no need to buy ink and labels, just ink and they look btter too.

I've tried several label creation programs, and if you're looking for the ability to actually design the labels, you're better off using a paint program, and then just print with the label program. Most of the Epson inkjet printers can print directly onto the DVD itself (I have one, and it's great), and cost round $100. Canon also makes the Pixma i4500 which can be made to print directly to CDs. These printers come with software that allow you to do rudimentary label creation, but I design my labels in PaintShop Pro and then import the images into the printer's printing software. Here's an online label alignment/printing thing that's web-based: http://www.mediaface.com/Default.aspx[^] When I'm printing onto label sheets (8x11 sheets with two labels on them), I use their web page to print.
