An SDK is being released for Microsoft Surface[^], that cool table-top touch-screen device. Downside? The devices cost about $10,000 so I'm pretty sure you won't be getting the talented indie developers doing anything with this. (I went back three pages to see if this was a repost. If it is, apologies.)

    cheers, Paul M. Watson.

My boss and I have already talked about getting one of these puppies; the ideas I have for that thing and medical offices makes me all ... nerdy inside. :-\

 Go for it, and then tell us what you did, should be interesting.

Might make writing a CP article difficult: Step 1: Using your Microsoft Surface ... Step 1: After securing a credit line for $10,000 ... Step 1: Close your eyes ...

From what I heard, the Surface technology is supposed to come out in Windows 7. Guess that would make the SDK more useful.

One of the hotels downtown, I beleive it was the Radisson, has a pair of these in the lounge. Not much more than a nice way to order drinks, but you could do so much more with them.

Ah, now that makes more sense.

So does that mean next-gen PCs will go up to 10 kilobucks? Although, with the way things are going now, that may be less than a pack of peanuts...
