Martin Marvinski wrote: My goal is just to make people stop and think, and just maybe I'll win a few hearts. You have my vote. I think it's a sick, barbaric and inhuman practice. It's something that deserved to have been left in the dark ages where it belongs. People should be expressing their shock that young male children ever had to experience this at all. What a completlely stupid idea to do that to someone anyway. I mean, did people really think it was necessary to improve on the human body for some reason? The part of the body in question is obviously there for a reason. If you lose it, your body adapts accordingly, in my opinion not for the better. Luckily I was never subjected to this horrific procedure and I feel sorry for anyone that has. Anything that reduces sensation has to be a bad thing surely. Is it really surprising then, that this primitive practice is associated with certain religions? "The folly of man is that he dreams of what he can never achieve rather than dream of what he can."

Move to Britain then. I'm sure it's been said many times in the other threads on this topic, but over here it's the norm to be uncut. (And I've been told by friends who've dated American girls that they've been somewhat perplexed when faced with the unknown!) The only people who get circumsized have it done for religious or medical reasons (medical as in "There is a problem" not "they may one day be a problem if he never washes it") -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

Would you have agreed with being circumcised as a baby? Or would you have elected to keep your foreskin. If I, as an infant, had the voice, would never have consented. I do believe that there are some of you who would say, "Yes, snip it off! I don't care about not having pain-relief, cause babes don't feel pain!". I have always wondered; if doctors couldn't figure out that babies feel pain for hundreds of years, how can they even be qualified to suggest that circumcision is even good?
Isn't it great to live in a day and age when there is so little true injustice to concern ourselves with that we feel the need to appeal to such trivial nonsense as circumcision just to have something to feel all morally superior about? I'm not a real reverend, I just play one on CP.

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.
I have to disagree, Colin. Voting should be considered a priviledge restricted to a few worthy individuals (such as myself, for example) not a birth right granted by default to everyone. I'm not a real reverend, I just play one on CP.

I am damn glad I was circumcised as a baby. I'm glad the procedure was done, and I sure as hell don't care how I felt about it at the time (I have absolutly no memory of it). Better then than now, ouch. Ryan Johnston

I read that most people don't have problems. What if you were one of the people that got an infection, or had adhesions because of a circumcision? It happens more than people think.

Good lord, man! You're comparing circumcision to racial discrimination, rape, molestation and cancer??!! Have you ever faced any of these things personally? I have and I can tell you there is no comparison. I think Christian is right, you need to go see a shrink to get over your obsession.

Well, given what I'll be going through in a couple of years or so, I'd be pretty mad if it had been done to me - it makes GRS/SRS surgery much harder, and I really don't fancy the idea of having skin grafts. As I've said before, circumcision should be banned unless the subject is a consenting adult.
