Erm...how could you not know about Visual Assist...? It's been in my "essential" box for about 8 years now...:wtf::doh:

Hmmm... A company that makes all its money from browser-based adverts, producing a browser that lets you block ads.... I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were you. :)

I've been using Google Chrome since it was launched but have been bitching about the lack of an ad blocker. How ironic that I have since purchased both Visual Assist and Visual Build because of their ads here on CP. :) If I ever get an ad blocker for Chrome, I'll make sure CP is excluded. Visual Assist is just fabulous - I don't know how I've lived without it for so long.

Try Iron. It is based on Chrome and has an AdBlocker. http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_chrome_vs_iron.php[^]

What could be simpler than <ESC>:q! Emacs, on the other hand - there's an editor I've *never* got on with.

That's no excuse! The first time I saw an ad for it was a year after we bought it.... ;P

I killed the telnet session via the OS. My *nix c++ programs in school were all edited in VC6.
