I was just wondering How many hours do a person generally work? What the Average number of hours one gets sleep?

Currently locked into a Max of 40 but I have been known to go for 60 hours a week of work on occasion. Usually between 2 and 6 hours of sleep a night.

Wow! Does your 10 hr day include commuting and lunch. You have almost no free time during the day. That's just nuts.

I am at work from exactly 8:00 until 4:45. I leave the house at 7:15 and home by 5:30. So I basically loose 10H 15M of my life every day to pay the bills. I sleep six hours per night 12:30 to 6:30 and about 10 hours on Friday / Saturday night. I may be at work 8hrs + 45min for lunch + 1.5 hours commuting but I don't work that much. Most weeks, I work between 10 - 15 hours. I've never had a programming job where I consistently worked more than 20 hours per week. Don't get wrong occasionally I have put in a 35 hours of work but that's rare.

Sleep: less than 7 hours per day. Work: depends. At times I have worked 18+ hour days but that was before I had a SO. If I tried that now she would do everything in her power to prevent me from working this hard. So I would say that 12 hours a day.

                  A) There are fewer and fewer people who do what I do because more professors are teaching the antithesis of parallel methods. B) What I do is getting to be more important, larger demand, if they could have me for 90+hours they would take it. C) The second job is my own business, which is my solution in the long-term for shortening the hours of the first but has not completely got off the ground to replace my primary job, though is growing. D) I have a child who is a competition gymnast. While other parents have told their kids to drop expensive activities such as this due to the economy, I refuse to do that. Minimum cost is about $7000 a year only for that, assuming no extras. E) My step-son wanted to increase his gymnastics in order to try for the olympics in 8 years, so that required professional equipment and private tutoring. (i.e. "extras") :) P.S. Don't bother asking about the biological dad.... he's doubled his number of transformers collectables  while saying he can't afford anything....

I'm too honest to do that even when working from home. My distraction level's high enough there that even without the commute and being 3 feet from my fridge instead of a mile from a restaurant I end up finishing 8hrs of work at the same time I'd be parking my car otherwise.
