..and the(y')re! Just wondering: why did you comment on this if you are very busy?

The mis-use of THERE was highlighted, and it ought to be THEIR. I cannot see why They're would be useful. I respond even when busy, becasue it helps to break the impasse. Taking my mind from a tough task allows me time to think about it.

I must remember that phrase - it sounds so much better than "I'm just tssin it off waiting for lunch" :)
I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

That was a joke to underline another common mistake: there vs. they're. It was supposed to read "And there!", or "There you have it!", as a joke, and as most of my jokes turn out to be pretty pointless, I'll have to apologize again. There! Happy? :) _

I think they've already got the finished product, so they don't have worry about calling their developers monkeys. It's just an ad, and whoever can't see that is no smarter than a monkey. At least those monkeys can code. :| _ Never mind, I didn't read the last line in the blog. All the same, STFU! It's an ad! It's not supposed to be smart!

It is. Often dumb ads are made that way to target dumb people, so a dumb ad targeting clever people is an EPIC FAIL.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find anything that agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. Then I don't see the point of giving it this kind o attention. :~ Unless... I don't know! A dumb ad is a dumb ad. I've never seen any other kind! Then again, I don't see any kind lately, with the AdBlock filter and all. Are clever people really clever if they mind the ads not intended for them? Who knows? I never will... My soul is at rest knowing I don't have to ponder at these distractions.

The most ridicoluos ad line I have ever seen. I just saw an ad of VSoft on CP telling: "At VSoft we hire chimps to write build scripts... so you don't have to." Can you expect a software company calling its developers as code monkeys, thats just stupid. And they are proud of this advertising compaign as some mr. Brent is saying on his blog[^] God help the poor devs.
Its never over !
And if you get enough chimps typing at enough computers, they'll write the best version of Windows the world has ever seen! :) Regards, --Perspx

No, that level of complete dreck can't be created by accident. Only deliberate intention to punish your customers could result in Vista.

That particular style rule is challenged quite brilliantly by the young black student character in the movie "Finding Forrester" with Sean Connery playing the eponymous title role. He points out numerous usages of "And.." sentences from authors all over the spectrum of creative writing then makes the case that these usages form the base for disputing that proper usage need not always be completely compliant with the rules of formal grammar. Naturally, we do depend on formal rules in our main mode of expression. Idiom fails in software if it is not grammatically correct.

The use of "and" at the beginning of a sentence indicates to me that the writer can't join two sections of prose together in an understandable way. They take the easy way out and write two sentences, much like a 5 year old would.
