PC comes of age![^] And it seems like only yesterday  If you started off in the dark ages like some of us, what computer did you have? I had an RML380Z back in 1977 :omg: State of art UK technology back then, complete with Z80 processor and 16KB memory - eventually I had 32KB which was definitely cutting edge. The metal case was so strong you could dance on it  Alas, it got lost in a house move about 3 years ago :(( JohnJ X| Life is hard and then you die! X| http://www.rainbow-innov.co.uk[^]

JohnJ wrote: what computer did you have? Altair 8800. Of course, it wasn't really useful until I interfaced an ASR33 Teletype to it and wrote an OS (called a Monitor then) for it. "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" "Knock, knock..."

JohnJ wrote: Definitely the stone age! Not at all! Oh, we mucked about for a time banging rocks together, but the results of the computations were inconsistent. Then someone at the bar suggested trying these newfangled transistor thingies, and the Altair was born! A New Adjective Is Born!
