Obama is a conservative in sheep's clothing. As his 2001 radio interview reveals, he does not believe in judicial activism and would appoint centrist or conservative judges to the Supreme Court. Obama is a christian and will work to erode the wall between church and state. Obama is overly focused on consensus building and will do little or nothing to advance a progressive agenda. Obama believes in balanced budgeting and will not advocate or fund the social spending our nation so desperately needs. What we really need is a progressive thinker who can advance the ideals upon which America was founded. What we have in Obama is just another conservative-leaning centrist who will go along to get along. It's sad.

:omg: What would be sad is if Obama were to lose this election. (BTW, I just came from standing two hours in line to vote for him, so he better win!) He may not be exactly what you want, but if were, he probably wouldn't have made it this far. I hope you can at least agree that he's a step in the right direction.

Obama's plan gives me a $400 per year tax cut. McCain's plan gives me a $80 per year tax cut. Would rather be one of the lucky few to have taxes raised by Obama. (Someone on the Internet)

Ed, if you're looking for a politician who is firstly concerned with the social good you are probably in the wrong country. Any policies like that would be decried as "socialism" and immediately discarded. Have you considered Canada or Europe?

Indeed, thats the only reason he beat Hillary in the first place - a far more radically leftist background. If he doesn't deliver to those to whom he owes such a huge political debt, there will be hell to pay.

Okay, they may not be better, but when it comes to lying and cheating, Canadian and European politicians are at least equal with American politicians! :P The difference between American politics and the politics of Europe and Canada is that it's acceptable to discuss the social good in terms of social medicine, the environment, etc.

RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.) Obama is a conservative in sheep's clothing. It's sad.

So, you oppose any person with religious beliefs being president ?

You didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway since it's something I feel strongly about. When I was younger, I thought I disliked religious people. Later, I found religious people I liked and even respected (you're among that group) and I realized that religion isn't the problem. The problem is forcing closed-minded dogma on others and there happens to be quite a few (vocal) religious (and non-religious) people who do that, but there's plenty who don't. I would like to vote for politicians while having no idea what their religion is. I want to vote for politicians based on their policies and I want their policies to represent all citizens, not just ones who belong to their particular religion. I don't want all 10 Commandments implemented as law (though some are, as they should be) and I don't want Sharia Law. A politician's religion should be their own business; just as I don't enforce my personal religion in my job, they shouldn't enforce it in theirs. That's the value of separation of church and state.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours. ~Stephen Roberts

I am not sure where you are going with that, but going to church doesn't make you a Christian.
