I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that 21 hour plane ride. I can barely go for 3 hours without a cigarette right now.

Yeah that sucks. I'm a smoker and just got back to Sydney after a week in Amsterdam which included 48 hours flying. I usually find it's not as bad as you expect it to be. You sleep for about 8 hours without a smoke every day anyway way its really not that bad. I think from memory that KL airport has a smoking room you can use before you pick up your bags and go through immigration.

So, I've never really been out of the US before, and I'm leaving for Malaysia tomorrow morning for work. Anybody here ever been there? I'm hoping for some tips on what to expect.

My brother went to Malaysia working for Intel, took a side trip to Thailand and had a son 9months later. This occured every couple of years, now he has 3 kids, and a permanent girlfriend in Thailand. now you know what NOT to do. :-D

Just remember the first rule of improvisational comedy and you'll be fine: "Accept everything".

I was going to say fool around. :) if you don't get "something" right away, you might get something else in 3/4 of a year. :)

 Sorry, I meant nobody here at work got it. I'm sure the fine folk at CP got it, being super-geniuses and all.

OK, remember to greet everyone with am enthusiastic "your smell is strong!", that's just a common sign of courtesy and expected of guests as you are one. Also make sure to get enough Kerapu as soon as leave the plane, and throw it liberally at women you find attractive. Otherwise, the local men will think you are not respecting their culture and country, and beat the crap out of you. Otherwise, the locals are very friendly. :D

In the cities, and especially for Business, they're all going to speak English ... so you'll be at a disadvantage there.
