Got to Malaysia

Thanks to everybody that gave me tips on long distance travel. Especially the one about sleeping pills. So, I've arrived here in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and it's really incredible. I came from Chicago, and it's amazing to see a city that's so clean. I'm sure there are parts that aren't as nice, but from what I've seen so far it's pretty amazing. I've got one question that will probably be best answered by a diverse group like this. Is it only white people that recline their seats on an airplane? Of course, on the first flight which was about 13 hours from Chicago to Tokyo, I got the middle seat, and the lady in front of me put her seat back. I'm about 6'3", so this is pretty inconvenient and painful for me. Then, I looked around and noticed that nobody else put their seats back. It was a Japan Airlines flight, so I also noticed that most of the people weren't white. Is there a correlation here or is it just me? Note that I'm white and I don't put the seat back unless there's nobody back there.

I always put the seat back on long flights or if the person in front puts theirs back.
Christian Graus Driven to the arms of OSX by Vista. "Iam doing the browsing center project in vb.net using c# coding" - this is why I don't answer questions much anymore. Oh, and Microsoft doesn't want me to.

Precisely why I always try for a seat in the front row of a block....

I can not speak for all people, I have been fortunate to travel business to Malaysia (the long flights), but I can speak for JAL they have small seats. (flown many times within Asia) They usually accommodate me with the bulkhead. You may ask for that the next time on JAL.

I just did the Detroit to Tokyo leg on my way to Beijing a few weeks ago. I noticed most people had their seats reclined no matter where they appeared to be from. For domestic flights I don't usually, but for that long a flight when I had to try and get some sleep I did. It took 13 hours on the way out, just 10 on the way back. Yay prevailing winds! It's amazing how much some people bitch about flying to Asia though... fer chrissakes, I went from my doorstep in Michigan to my hotel room in Beijing in about 22 hours. Do you realize how few people in history have been able to do that? I went about as far away from my home as possible before I'd start coming back in less than a day. Stop and think about that for a minute. We're pretty lucky to be alive right now, IMHO. Have fun in Malaysia! :)
He said, "Boy I'm just old and lonely, But thank you for your concern, Here's wishing you a Happy New Year." I wished him one back in return.
