Hate is pretty strong (can you explain your reasons?): it's just sport: it's not like who wins or loses will really make any difference to your life other than a fleeting moment of pleasure or upset.

According to reports his car did not have the traction required as he had not changed them to wet weather tyres thus was having to drive more carefully. Or it was a conspiracy... :laugh: Still, it was edge of the seat viewing: quite exciting.

If it was a conspiracy, it was an amazing one. He judged the situation and decided what to do at the nick of time, at the split second. I don't think he was told to do that by radio, because those conversations are recorded, are they not?

I was a Ferrari fan when Eddie Irvine had a real chance at the championship, but his own team screwed him. That was a real nasty conspiracy and it was so much painful because it was staged by his own team. (During the Nurburgring race, near the end Eddie Irvine was in front and made a pit stop, but the mechanics were waiting for him with only 3 tires. He lost a lot of time, points and the championship ultimately.)

Can't quite remember the last time F1 has had me so edge-of-seat, absolutely brilliant. As for the mysterious 18 seconds, well it could be foul play but then again, when you're trying to pull those kinds of forces on the wrong tyres, I can expect it could all very easily go tits up, so it could very well be genuine.

I always liked Irvine - seemed a bit of a nutter but very exciting to watch. Is that team conspiracy thing documented? Is so that's such a BAD thing :(

It's not documented, but obvious to many. At that time Ferrari hadn't won a title in 27 years or so and many thought that Schumacher was entitled to take the honor.
