Has anyone else noticed that most of the topics in the code project industry news are related almost directly to Microsoft. Now I know they are the biggest company in IT but surely there must be other areas which are interesting. Has CodeProject got some sort of funding from Microsoft? :)

CP has always been a MS technology focused site. It's only very recently that they've started adding the Linux/Java/SQL alternatives.

Considering that nearly 20,000 of our articles are related to Microsoft technologies it seemed appropriate that our news focus mainly on Microsoft. As we add more topics we will be expanding the focus of our news, but for now we're not sure if many readers on The Code Project are interested in the latest ramlbings about EJBs and XML

        cheers, Chris Maunder

"Your place for 21,136 free Visual Studio and .NET articles..." :) (Some of us try and talk about Other Companies on the Lounge. We get yelled at a lot.)

          cheers, Paul M. Watson.

Yes, but they aren't "kid sister" safe.

Thanks for that: I'm always looking to see what people are thinking, and what I could do to make the news more interesting to more people. As others have stated, CP is traditionally a VS-centric place, and that's why I tend to use items of interest to Microsoft developers. When I do post to some other items (Oracle, Sun, even IBM) I notice a fairly dramatic decrease in clicks, so I return to my roots. There are a lot of Web items that aren't necessarily Microsoft (and I keep thinking the vc guys will complain). However, are there any companies/technologies/whatnot in particular you'd like to see more of?

Anything about flying cars would be nice! ;) I like the news the way it is, particularly the lines of text below the headlines.
