Well, what did you expect, Zimbabwe news ?

No, I expect industry news or international salaries news. Take for example the news from a few days ago of salaries. They only had the salaries from the US. What about pointing to an article on UK salaries for a change. I would only like to see some of the time other countries.

To be quite honest, I would guess that whoever does the news (is this Chris or someone else?) simply doesn't read foreign news sources. You could always track down the same information as it applies to your country and post it here in the lounge. Maybe after a while the sources will catch on and become popular reading for whoever posts the news info. Or maybe they will let you help edit it :)

The culture that spread the most is British. This can be proved by the language we are all using and the fact that most of us live in Parliamentary Democracies. Also the fact we are using Computers, The Web, Watch TV, Ride on Trains, Have Rubber Tyres, Listen to radios etc as nauseum! This may prove to be a bit soap boxy if I am not careful! :)

But apart from the English language, parliamentary democracy, computers, web, tv, trains, rubber tyres and radios ... what have the British ever done for us?

Yes, and it irritates me no end. Just the other day i was thinking, "all of these interview tip articles appear to be relevant, but end up being empty and generic - if only they were on a host named *.co.uk, i could skip reading them more easily".

You're right. These facts that you've laid out totally contradict the wild ramblings that I pulled off the back of cornflakes packets.

I try to avoid most of the US-only stuff (offers, contests, etc), but sometimes I feel an item is useful enough to people everywhere (interview tips can be US-specific?!?) to include. If you know of any good news feeds that provide international salary reports, feel free to submit it and I'll start watching it. Thank you for the feedback!

I think the press here in the UK have still got their heads stuck up Obama where the sun doesn't shine. I just can't contemplate the overblown love-in that's going to happen when he actually gets inaugurated. I'll guess at over a week of "how the first african-American got to the white house", "tracing the first african-american's roots from Kenya to the most important job in the world", "how the first african-american president wipes his rz", "see how sycophantic the BBC can be with the first african-american president" etc etc Maybe we could just abbreviate his name to Barack Obama FA-AP. I've no problems in anyone being elected, just the UK press going utterly overboard.

Kent - keep doing what you are doing, I don't read the news any way, just the comments that come with them.

Some of the interview stuff is generic but other stuff wouldn't work over here. Not sure about websites to watch which is why I look at your email. I will say that the sub headings are very good and always brighten up my day. Have a good weekend
