Yes they are, and have been caught airbrushing out clouds aswell. The theory goes they don't want to raise public expectation of a manned expedition by allowing it to look too friendly. Whether this is just to make such a manned expeition look like more of a challange than it already is or because they simply don't know how to do it right now and want to avoid the embarrasment of admitting it, only NASA knows.

They are also hiding pictures of the large MArtian cities, and the pictures of martians pposing for the camera, with one martian holding two of his three fingers behind the other Martian's head in a 'V'

      cheers, Chris Maunder

I think it looks like Cromer. (for those who don't know this is Cromer[^]) I had many a childhood holiday there.

No, they actually have little 'V's on their heads, it is a common misconception.

Why is there a golf ball in the crater at the bottom of that page?

You've obviously never seen how far Tiger Woods can drive a golf ball...

Duh! Early setlers from Mars landed in Scotland thinking it was a sunny temperate location. This was due to the MGEA (Martian Galactic Exploration Agency) air brushing the images to hide the heather. They carried on practicing there relegion which involved placing large spheres inside craters. The true meaning got lost of the milenia and it evolved into what we now call golf. I thought everyone knew this!
