I am looking into buying a steering wheel for PC gaming as my car is taking a beating :sigh: (besides a certain lady told me to keep my racing of the roads and in the game). I am looking at this particular model (Logitech Momo) http://www.salameander.com/uploads/logitechmomosteeringwheel.gif[^] , anyone have used it before...? any suggestions? I had a look at the G25 but it seems a bit expensive.

I have one. The build quality is rubbish, both plastic hinges broke, and Logitech wont fix (crappy 1 yr warranty!). I would definitely go for something with a stronger design next time.

      IronScheme - 1.0 beta 1 - out now!

I don't even know if that's still being made. Back in the day when I was sim racing, I used an ECCI G600GTS. It's a lot mor eexpensive than the Momo, and it doesn't have force feedback. Anyway, try EBay and look for the "red Momo". It was supposed to be the best one they ever made.

I think I've seen the Red Momo at some online store before (thought it was old and the new model was better). Thanks for the advice :)

I used an ECCI - shipping weight is over 70 pounds, it came in three largish boxes, and it took me a couple of hours to assemble it. It's all steel and built like a tank.

I must say the general feel of it was not bad at all. And the force feedback, had a good enough kick to make you tired after 30 minutes of intense racing (obviously at 200% force). :)

I have been using Saitek R440 for about 4 years. I still dont have a single complaint. All parts work fine, no driver issues ..etc. Force feedback is exceptional. Some users may find 180 degree turn rate a little bit low but I believe it is more than enough. If you can search for some pictures you will see that pedal design is also different than most of the wheels. (Its like more of a real pedal.) I have bought around 80$ in the past but dont know current price. Hope this helps. P.S. Try with Colin Mcrae Rally for full performance :)

Dam cool looking, and I'm sure it feels brilliant, but $989 for a wheel without force feedback. Seems a bit odd.

It's built to last. I used mine for three years *every day* and I've never had to replace anything. Most of the plastic wheels available are lucky to last six months.

I am looking at this particular model (Logitech Momo) http://www.salameander.com/uploads/logitechmomosteeringwheel.gif[^] , anyone have used it before...? any suggestions? I had a look at the G25 but it seems a bit expensive.

Weird, except for the buttons in the center it looks just like the steering wheel that came with my Subaru.
