Of course the US doesn't have a monopoly on stupidity -- we inherited it from all parts of the world (especially Europe)! ;P Being buried isn't your only option though -- you could have your remains turned into nifty jewelry for your loved ones: Clickity

Not only is it stupid...it's ludicrous! You can't not bury people! And putting them in mass graves is just stupid. What if some guy's grandkids want to see their grandfather's grave? "No, sorry little Johnny. We can't see grandpa's grave because we don't know where it is." :omg: David Stone It seemed similar to someone saying, "Would you like to meet my knife collection?" Ryan Johnston on Elaine's sig

Hmm... I think a little "reading between the lines" is in order... The mayor of Le Lavandou on the French Cote d'Azur has banned his fellow citizens from dying. ... The existing cemetery is full and the mayor, Gil Bernardi, has been refused permission to establish a new one. ... "There is room for the living but not for the dead," he says, adding that the rest of the town is already heavily built up and he sees no alternative location. Although his ban on dying is hardly a long-term solution, at present he sees no alternative unless there is a change in the law. My take? He passed this ordinance to draw attention to the situation he's in. "They tell us we can't build a cemetery--what, we're supposed to stop dying?" By definition, a mayor is a politician, and needs to influence (at best) or manipulate (at worst) public sentiments to do his job. His actions may not be so stupid after all...
