No. Like every other salesperson, there are good and bad ones. You only ever hear about the bad ones because people like to moan. We've cultivated relationships with some top notch ones because they have gone out of their way to help us and the staff.

Pretty much: I've only found 2 in 20 years that I would cross the street to piss on if they were on fire. It may be differenet with permies but I doubt it. The ones I like are when they phone you to wax lyrical about a great job and want to send your CV in but then won't tell you who it is. Me: "So, maybe I have a reason I don't want my CV sent there. If you tell me who they are I'd know" Agent: "We can't tell you" Me: click.

No, not "just" those things, so much more besides. In general they also seem to be semi-literate, bone idle, gobshite talking cretins with no discernible use whatsoever and labouring ubder the misapprehension that because they have often given themselves the title of "Consultant" that they are in some way competent and important. I could relate many, many examples of their uselessness in my own experience, but the one which still makes me smile was when the "Recruitment Consultant" (was was almost exactly like the accountant in The Office) asked me for my qualifications. I've never understood this expression. If you wait until the fire gets going good before crossing you 1) get to enjoy pissing on them, 2) slow the fire extending the burn period 3) don't change the end period in the slightest. Why wouldn't you do it. :confused:
