Not too bad, should've done much better though. 590 on the verbal and a 690 on the quantitative, but I'm not sure what percentiles those scores put me in (both are out of 800). I'm not sure if they're good enough for the universities I'm applying to. It depends how heavily they base their decisions on them. If that doesn't work out this year (which will really upset me) then I'll move back to Canada for a year or 2, make some cash from a decent paying job before applying again with hopefully better scores by then.

Don't forget to vote if the response was helpful

Where are you applying? I got 760 Quant and 640 Verbal. I got into each school I applied for my Masters (Depaul, Northwestern, Colorado, Colorado State). I chose Colorado State.

Missouri@Columbia, U Albany, U Georgia and UC Santa Barbara, but I'm going for the PhD, doubt they're going to accept me with GRE scores that low even with my Masters GPA of 3.8.

Any idea where I can find out what the percentile scores are? I'm only interested in the Quantitative.

If I remember right, that shows up on the score report you receive in the mail. I think you might be surprised with your masters GPA. I'm assuming that the PhD's at the schools you listed are all fully funded and you must get accepted into a research program?

Yeah, I was just trying to gauge it. From the 2001 exams its a measley 66%, terrible. I should be in the upper 80s at least!

You assume correctly, but I might enter into an RA-ship from the first, most likely a TA-ship for the first year and then into an RA-ship.

Hey, at least you don't have to skip a year, then pass a year of a two-year (doesn't count) course before you are readmitted to your LLB. :|

I just think that your GPA in the masters program more accurately shows your ability and dedication than that of a standardized test. There are too many factors in those things (including whether or not you have a good guessing day).
