PA officials have ordered employees of several government agencies to participate in demonstrations for Saddam. http://www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/breaking_4.html It makes me sick to think the US offered the PA $30 billion in an attempt to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and this is how the US get repaid. (Note: The US Marchall plan after WWII - $15 billion, or $88 billion today - was far smaller per capita than the $30 billion offered to the Palestinians. And, based on the population of Gaza and the West Bank - 3.3 million - that works out to almost $10,000 per man, woman, and child - several times the annual pay of the average working man of any Arab country.) ------------------------------------------ When I was a kid, I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord, in his wisdom, didn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked him to forgive me. - Emo Phillips

You're right. We should sell the nukes to Israel and then tell them to go town on the Palestinians and the Iraquis. (Just kidding by the way):-D David Stone It seemed similar to someone saying, "Would you like to meet my knife collection?" Ryan Johnston on Elaine's sig

Why does this suprise you ? It has been common knowledge for many years , the USA is assosiated with Isreal in the eyes of many people in that part of the world. Isreal is surrounded by countries who hate it , and the logic of 'my enemys friend is my enemy' holds sway . What is also accepted knowledge in other parts of the world , including those parts who are friendly allies to the US is that the US does not understand how it is percieved in many parts of the world . This was one of the outcomes of the events of sepetember 11th , the US was shocked by the hatred felt by many countries toward it . I do not support that hatred , I think that the USA has been a democratic power in the world , and the world would be in a much worse state if the USA was not so powerful at the moment . But I do appreciate that not all people feel this way . Whether the USA likes it or not , it has a pivitol role to play in resolving the conflict in the area , but it is seen as being too closely aligned with Isreal to play the role of mediator. Norway did a good job last time , another independant country should step in now . Oh no, you can't fool me. There ain't no Sanity Clause!

Israel has their own nukes. Well it is at least widely believed that they do. Ryan Johnston

I was joking. Besides, their nukes are probably old. And, we would be getting rid of some of our nukes that we just don't need. ;) David Stone It seemed similar to someone saying, "Would you like to meet my knife collection?" Ryan Johnston on Elaine's sig
