    David Warren: Evil & stupidity[^]

... But without further inquiry or thought, the Carleton University Students Association bought into a proposition from one of its members, a certain Donnie Northup, that was both evil and quite superlatively ignorant. "Good intentions" do not excuse them, as their president, Brittany Smyth, has tried to argue with several media callers. Anti-white and anti-male prejudices are not well-intentioned; she should have been corrected publicly on that. And here is how Ms. Smyth dismissed the disgraceful preamble of Mr. Northup's motion, to CTV News: "It's 100 per cent their opinion. Their opinion doesn't have to be fact or anything really. It's just how this individual felt." This remark reveals an extraordinary degree of incuriosity, allied perhaps with lethargy and cowardice, on the part of the student councillors. Political correctness has numbed their brains. How has it done so? By instilling indifference to truth in their souls. ...

What could be more stupid than someone who posts incessant links, but when people try to discuss what was linked to, runs and hides like a scared little girl ?

You know, there's no such thing as 'evil', at least not in the objective sense.

Rubbish. It scores 7 at scrabble. It is an anagram of Live. And it is an accronym of "Every Version Is Loathed".

That is the trouble with closed minds, if you cannot question, you cannot learn. As a child, my Mother would tell me "A day passing in which you haven't learnt something is a wasted day". This is a truism, and I question everything. Ilion has read a book and thinks that is enough.

Ah, but this book is something else entirely! It's the definitive moral compass for all mankind, despite the fact that it is so vague and unintelligible that it requires special training to pretend to have authority on it. Also, much of it is antiquated and completely contrary to reality. Much like Troy's way of thinking, come to think of it. Also, one thing that needs reiterating: Troy is pro-abortion, believe it or not.

Evil is a purely subjective state: that which one culture accepts as everyday ritual may be seen as evil by another. My definition of evil (someone who frustrates others with tedious cryptic puzzles) may not be yours. :-)

What could be more stupid than someone who posts incessant links, but when people try to discuss what was linked to, runs and hides like a scared little girl ?

How about someone who lies about things, as you are doing?

You are a gutless coward, afraid to debate, incapable of original thought, doomed to be disliked on the Net and in person.
