Anyone know of...

I got saddled with a project, and of course, time is very short and the budget is non-existent. Does anyone know of a decent resource/schedule display control?? What I'm looking for is something that will show me resources, say machines, down the left side, and blocks of days/time acrossed to the right. For example, I need to schedule users and projects time on virtual machines for any number of days/weeks and be able to graphically show when the machines are available and reserved. I'd normally "roll-my-own", but time is an issue...

Take a picture of your server machine with Outlook Calendar open and your team members' heads around the screen, there is your graphic display of time and resources. :)

I was going to say, "use a whiteboard".

Thanks! I took a look at the DBITech product. It's OK, but for a $0.00 budget, it's a bit steep in price. Infragistics doesn't look like it would do what I need. DevExpress seems like it might fit the bill and the price is better, expense $200! ;)

2006, 2007, 2008Yeah suggested the DBITech one with reservations: I bought it many years ago when it was only an unmanaged product. Then we decided to port our app to .net. I pleaded with DBITech to port to a managed version. At first they said they had no plans, then started saying they were thinking about it. I kept an ongoing correspondence with them for some time suggesting what I would like to see and they kept saying they were "just about" to port to .net. Finally I could wait no longer and went with Infragistics at first, then DBITech released a .net version and they had a particular feature (timeline view) that I wanted. When I tried to get a discount for the managed version (having been a customer for many years) they treated me like dirt and I found that DevExpress did the view I wanted and went that route instead. I seriously don't understand how companies can treat their age old customers, ones who actively participated in helping them steer in a new direction like that, like crap and expect anything good to come of it. I guess it's all about the money.

2006, 2007, 2008I'v used the devexpress one for something simular I can definatly recommend it and if you get stuck somewhere send me a mail, can't make any promises but I'll try to help (been working with there controls for about a year now) And there support is the best I'v seen usually an answer in 1 to 2 days (depending on your location)
