Short answer: Chris has everyone under control in the Lounge; in the Soapbox, the inmates are revolting. ;)

I am new to codeproject forums. I see there are two forums for general discussions Lounge and Soapbox. I read the description about both forums but still I am unclear about the difference between soapbox and lounge as I see some posts in the lounge which clearly belongs to soapbox, but still not sure.

Does the length of forum matter? I see the quality of thoughts/words/opinion in lounge is more better than the soapbox. By the way I am member here since 2-3 days so it is possible I may not know the truth/fact. :-)

Soapbox discussions do have a habit of being long-winded, and heated. This is to be expected considering the subjects under discussion. So you often see discussions over a hundred messages in a thread over 2 or more days. And there is no limit on message count, duration of discussion, or indeed subject. BUT, if you are easily offended, then the soapbox might not be for you. Otherwise, welcome, come have some fun.

Soapbox or Longue, just feel free unwind yourself and express your opinions. When you browse threads, you will find some topics you might want to discuss so just race in and have fun ;) .

Yeah and I guess I know now the difference between the soapbox and lounge. The other good thing I noticed that the threads( and users also) on this site are way more active then any other programming forum site I know. And I kinda loved it.... cheers for CP and CPians :)

Well, the Lounge is more for quality and so threads tend to be shorter. Whereas the Soapbox is more for quantity, so threads can take on a life all of their own. :)

If that is your opinion of the lounge, I think that you should go in there, insult John Simmons, and wait for a sweet and sappy response back from him.
